THE FINISHER
From the very first words spoken over creation, God had a plan.
When He said “Let there be light”… He already had the cross in view. Through every moment in Scripture—Eden, the flood, the ram in the thicket, Joseph in the pit, Moses at the burning bush, the Red Sea parting, the walls of Jericho falling, the fire on Mount Carmel, the lions’ den, the fourth man in the furnace, and the manger in Bethlehem—God was working a plan that would be finished through Jesus.
In John 19:30, Jesus declared from the cross: “It is finished.”
He wasn’t saying I am finished — He was declaring the plan is finished.
He is the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), the One who began the work and the One who will complete it (Philippians 1:6).
This message reminds us:
Jesus is the Finisher of God’s redemptive plan.
Jesus is the Finisher of the work in your life.
You can lay down every burden (Matthew 11:28), throw off every sin, and run with endurance the race set before you.
Like Paul, you can finish your race with joy — when your eyes stay fixed on the Finisher.
If God had a plan through every page of Scripture… He still has a plan for you.
Keep your eyes on Jesus — The Finisher. ✝️
